GUIDEBOOK POSTED FOR SEHOME HILL

Yes! My guide book (version Drtopo) is now displayed as the only Washington guidebook on http://www.drtopo.com.

definitely have to wait til spring to climb outdoors again

OOH IT IS COLD

It was so cold your body couldn't rotate on the rock and when you got off your fingers wanted to exploded causing you to curl into a little ball.

scraping the snow off didn't help

Indoors for us

We came to terms that it is TOO cold to climb. We have to wait until next spring to climb again.

I guess it is back to the gym pulldowning on plastic and hangbars.
I guess it is back to sitting in my dark apartment searching for bouldering photographs and videos on the internet wishing I was in Squamish and wishing it wasn't snowing at -5 degrees celsius

A tribute to the Mac Money who gets the hunnies

But what is more important is climbing than the hunnies. Here is Mac Daddy pulling down on his new woody on Halloween. Was he out partying and getting drunk and getting girls fone numbers? No! He was pulling on plastic getting ready for his climbing trip to Korea in Summer (sponsored by Grande Industries).

Was he out driving his car off road and having to climb up the roof of some college kid's houses to avoid the police on a Friday night? No! he was building his woody!

Right on Mac! You have the right priorities. I'll see you on the rock at Songni Mountain in Summer! BIG UPs!

Note: I did spell "fone" correctly

the rock quality at Songnisan is unusual.

These little holes are everywhere.

And the rocks are all over the place surrounding this temple.

Turtle

Skyler mentioned the Turtle on a comment. I felt I should pay my respects to the Turtle by displaying its wonder.

In fact coming soon, climbing guide to Sehome Hill on http://www.drtopo.com and the climbing area that the Turtle resides has been termed, by yours truly, Turtle.

NOTE: This is not in South Korea, in a far far away place called Bellingham, WA, USA. But you probably knew that since all the boulders in South Korea don't have a whole lot of chalk on them!

Paul is a Crazy Bastard

The dude insisted on climbing in even this blizzard. I have climbed in the snow but it wasn't a god damn blizzard. And the route we wanted to climb was covered in ice. He began to scrape off the ice. I was like "yo man, the problem gets harder on the way up. There is no way you can climb this problem in these conditions." So instead he found that little rock and sit started it and mantled it. I was laughing. Click on the photograph of him climbing it and look at his facial expression. He is hurting not from the difficulty but cause his shoes are so small and not expanding in the cold.

First ascents by Alex, name - The Wise Oracle.

Two slabs. One on the right without using the side hand and feet holds. More difficult
the other is using the side which was pretty easy.

Difficult amazing routes

On this rock there are a number of problems. The best is this undercling crack start, that none of us held, up to this sloppy side rail and then up. ahh it was awesome. I can't wait to go back and put some real muscle into that start.

2 first ascents by alex. left - Dharma Junky; right - Korean Saving Face

I felt bliss on this rock. Totally clean, near the trail. and just beautiful and untouched. Korea bouldering is a priceless jewl.

Ryan's second ever first ascent

Songnisan

At this time of the year, the small town surrounding Songnisan is empty and the national park and temples are quiet. My friends and I took off the trail right next to the temples and began exploring the forests and found a large quantity of rock. I plan on spending much time here to discover a plethora of climbs.
